SV Rover: World’s First Street-Legal Electric Hypertruck

Scarbo Vintage, a prominent California-based auto design and manufacturing firm, has recently unveiled its groundbreaking creation, the SV Rover.

This ultra-rugged off-road monster of a vehicle boasts an impressive 1,000 horsepower, marking it as the “world’s first street-legal hypertruck” in all-electric form.

After 14 years of meticulous design and development, Scarbo Vintage finally pulled the curtains back on the SV Rover, a testament to the company’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of performance with vehicles inspired by iconic designs. This electric hypertruck represents the latest addition to Scarbo’s acclaimed SV lineup, following the SVF1, inspired by the 1967 Ferrari 312 F1 car, and the SV RSR, based on the Porsche 911 for Ken Block’s Hoonipigasus Pikes Peak car.

The SV Rover draws inspiration from the classic Land Rover Defender 90, initially conceived as a desert race truck for Baja before being transformed into a street-legal hypertruck. Joe Scarbo, the CEO of Scarbo Vintage, proudly declared, “The SV Rover represents a new extreme in terms of off-road power, maneuverability, and capability.”

This groundbreaking creation seamlessly merges classic British design with modern American muscle and technology, promising a driving experience that surpasses anything this side of a trophy truck. The SV Rover is tailor-made for high-speed desert racing and ‘low speed technical’ off-roading. Its rugged build includes carbon fiber bodywork, massive wheel arches, 40″ tires on 20″ forged wheels, and distinctive circle LED headlights.

The SV Rover offers a choice between the all-electric variant featuring over 1,000 horsepower (750 kW) and a 75 kWh battery or the option equipped with a supercharged V8 engine. The interior of the SV Rover electric Hypertruck exudes luxury and innovation, featuring a 12.3″ digital gauge cluster, 12.8″ infotainment system, bucket seats, and an Alcantara interior adorned with billet aluminum accents.
