Revolutionizing Recruitment: Ashby Infuses AI into Talent Acquisition
Benjamin Encz and Abhik Pramanik, co-founders of Ashby, bring unique perspectives to the entrepreneurship landscape. Pramanik’s journey spans from R&D engineer in the film industry to mental health app co-founder and senior product manager at PlanGrid, a construction productivity software startup.
Encz, formerly with IBM and Datagroup, also joined PlanGrid, where he met Pramanik and became acquainted with the pain points in hiring processes.
Their solution, Ashby, launched in September 2022, consolidates talent acquisition tools and leverages AI to automate repetitive tasks. The platform creates job listings, sources candidates, schedules interviews, and provides real-time hiring metrics dashboards.
AI-generated filters and personalized outreach emails streamline the process. Ashby also summarizes interview feedback and allows for human review and adjustments.

With over 1,300 brands on board, including Quora and Reddit, Ashby’s customer base and revenue have grown significantly. The recent $30 million Series C funding, led by Lachy Groom, brings the total raised to $70 million. Ashby plans to expand its team by 50 people by year-end, further developing its product and market presence.
Encz emphasizes Ashby’s focus on product velocity, quality, and customer experience, differentiating it from other recruitment platforms. By injecting AI into talent acquisition, Ashby aims to alleviate the pain points Encz and Pramanik experienced firsthand, making hiring more efficient and effective for all stakeholders.
