37 additional fraudulent loan applications were delisted by the federal government through the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission.

The number of completely accepted loan applications increased as a result of the change, rising to 164 from 154 as of its most recent updates.

Conditional approvals for loan applications decreased from 40 to 38 while the quantity of applications on the commission’s watchlist rose from 20 to 56.

It was reported that the FCCPC has permanently delisted and started the process of removing at least two lending applications from the Google Play Store due to their harassment of Nigerians on August 20, 2023.

According to Newsmen, the FCCPC asked Google to remove unlawful applications from its Play Store that are functioning without legal authorization or in breach of the Limited Interim Regulatory/Registration Framework and Guidelines for Digital Lending, 2022 (Guidelines).
