How to determine if someone else is using Your Facebook Account

It’s bad news if someone has gained illegal access to your Facebook account. It probably won’t go well if you don’t respond fast. How can you tell if someone else is using your account, though?

Here are some tips on how to determine if someone else has access to your Facebook account and what you can do to prevent it.

Are they able to access your Facebook account?

If someone gets unauthorized access to your account, things might quickly get dangerous. Fortunately, Facebook has made it simple to find the truth. The option has actually been around for a while, but Facebook doesn’t do a good job of making you aware of it.

Log into your account to get started, then click the profile symbol in the top-right corner of the screen. Select Settings and Privacy > Settings from the menu.

How to Block Facebook Access on Devices

Click on the three vertical dots next to the device you wish to delete to revoke access. The menu will change. Either click Not You? or choose Log Out.

If you select Log Out, the unauthorized person’s access will be terminated, but if they know your password, they might be able to log in again.

Simply click Log out of all sessions at the bottom of your list of devices if you just want to start over.

Your Facebook Password Must Be Changed

After rescinding the unauthorized person’s access, you must take action to prevent it from happening again.

Of course, changing your Facebook password is the first step. Go to Settings and Privacy > Settings > Security and login > Login > Change password to accomplish this. To finish the procedure, you must input your previous password.

However, this just tells half of the tale. Also, think about implementing two-factor authentication. An SMS message, a Universal 2nd Factor (U2F) security key, the official Facebook code generator (in the smartphone app), or a third-party code generator can all be used for two-factor authentication.
