Simple Steps to Activate Chat Lock
You may use the conversation lock function on Android and iPhone to password-protect your most private discussions. You must use device authentication, such as your phone passcode, Face ID, or fingerprint, to unlock your conversations in order to view or send messages. These talks will be stored apart from the rest of your chats in a folder called Locked Chats.
The content of the notice and the contact are obscured while conversations are locked. In the notice, it will say WhatsApp: 1 new message.
To save media to your phone’s gallery while keeping it private, you must disable the conversation lock.
When you enable chat lock from your phone, just chats on that phone will be locked. The chats on any additional devices you have connected to WhatsApp, such as a desktop computer, won’t be locked.
Your closed chats will remain locked if you utilize WhatsApp’s backup and restore option after restoring to a new phone. You must first set up device authentication (fingerprint or Face ID) in order to access your protected conversations.
The person you are conversing with won’t be aware that you have locked the chat when you switch on the chat lock.
A conversation that has been archived must first be unarchived before it may be locked.
