Elon Musk Backs Prediction of One Billion Humanoid Robots by 2040

According to recent statements from Tesla’s CEO, Elon Musk, and AI research lab Midjourney’s founder David Holz, the future may be populated by a billion humanoid robots by 2040. In response to Holz’s statement about the potential for a billion humanoid robots on Earth by the 2040s, and a hundred billion across the solar system in the 2060s, Musk expressed his agreement, albeit conditionally, stating that such a scenario is conceivable “provided the foundations of civilization are stable.”

Musk has previously predicted that the ratio of AI-powered humanoid robots to humans could surpass one to one, and that, eventually, Tesla’s robot business could eclipse its automotive operations.
