New revolution as WhatsApp launches feature to allow users edit sent messages
Users of WhatsApp now have the option to alter messages up to 15 minutes after they have been sent thanks to a new feature.
Senders will be able to edit their messages within 15 minutes of pressing send thanks to a feature that will be made available globally in the coming weeks.
The new feature may be accessible by long-pressing the message and selecting “edit” from the drop-down menu, according to a blog post published on Monday by WhatsApp.
The post states, “You can now edit your sent messages for the instances when you make a mistake, or simply change your mind.
“From correcting a simple misspelling to adding extra context to a message, we’re excited to bring you more control over your chats. All you need to do is long-press on a sent message and choose ‘Edit’ from the menu for up to fifteen minutes after.
“Edited messages will display ‘edited’ alongside them, so those you’re messaging are aware of the correction without showing edit history. As with all personal messages, media, and calls, your messages and the edits you make are protected by end-to-end encryption.
“This feature has started rolling out to users globally and will be available to everyone in the coming weeks.”
The change was announced on Mark Zuckerberg’s Facebook page, which also serves as the creator of Meta, WhatsApp’s parent company.
Users can already edit messages on competing social networking platforms like Telegram and Signal.
The platform for an instant chat just announced a new function.
