Here Are the Most Annoying iOS 17 Features (and How to Fix Them) on Your iPhone
You may download Apple’s latest iOS 17 software update if you have a compatible iPhone, such as the iPhone 15. Standby mode, interactive widgets, full-screen contact posters for phone conversations, an upgraded and more customized autocorrect, and other innovations are included in the latest iPhone OS.
The new iOS 17 NameDrop feature allows you to instantly swap contact information via AirDrop by moving your iPhone close to another iPhone or Apple Watch. NameDrop receives your name and Contact Poster (both new in iOS 17), as well as your phone number, email address, and other information.
However, some users have complained about NameDrop disclosing information when they do not wish to. NameDrop may attempt to transmit your contact information if you place your iPhone near another iPhone in general. If you have two iPhones in your bag, one for personal use and one for business, NameDrop may attempt to share contact information between the two, which may be frustrating when you aren’t attempting to utilize the function on purpose.
Turn off notifications in StandBy.
The StandBy feature is undoubtedly one of the most significant new iOS 17 features for the iPhone, transforming your phone into a smart display while charging horizontally and displaying information such as the time, your calendar, photographs, and alerts in large, easy-to-read blocks. StandBy is a terrific method to rapidly absorb information by glancing at your phone, but if you are among other people and want to keep some of your information private, you may not want StandBy to show alerts.
Toggle off Show Notifications in Settings > StandBy. When you are in standby mode, you will no longer view all of your notifications. In standby mode, critical messages, such as weather crises, will still be displayed.

You may also conceal notice previews rather than the complete notification. You can still see what alerts you’re getting, but you won’t be able to read the precise data unless you touch on the notice. You must activate Show Notifications as well as the Show Preview on the Top Only setting beneath for this to work.
Prevent Siri from activating so easily.
In iOS 17, Siri gained a few important updates, including the ability to activate the voice assistant by just saying “Siri” – no more “hey” required. It’s a faster method to start an app or perform a shortcut with only your voice, but because the new trigger is only a single word, you can mistakenly trigger Siri more often.
To return to having Siri engaged only when you say “Hey Siri” and not simply “Siri,” go to Settings > Siri & Search > Listen for and choose the solo “Hey Siri” option. Siri will no longer be activated simply by saying “Siri.”
