Tezi: Revolutionizing HR with AI-Driven Recruitment

0

In an era where AI agents are increasingly transforming various sectors, Tezi, an innovative early-stage startup, is harnessing the power of artificial intelligence to streamline the recruitment process for HR teams.

The company is developing an AI agent designed to identify the ideal candidates for job openings, manage interview scheduling, and communicate with applicants.

Securing Seed Funding

Today, Tezi announced the successful completion of a $9 million seed funding round, aimed at advancing the development of their AI-driven recruitment tool. This significant investment will enable Tezi to transition from its current alpha stage to a fully operational product.

Leveraging Advanced AI for Recruitment

Tezi’s AI agent, currently being tested with a select group of design customers, promises to revolutionize traditional HR practices. According to CEO and co-founder Raghavendra Prabhu, while automated resume screening is not new, the latest generation of large language models (LLMs) offers unprecedented opportunities to enhance recruiting tools.

“The combination of reasoning and natural language capabilities in LLMs allows us to create something significantly more advanced than what has historically been available,” Prabhu explained.

Comprehensive Automation in Recruitment

Co-founder and COO Jason James elaborated on the limitations of existing tools, which often require human intervention for tasks like emailing and scheduling interviews, even after resumes have been screened. Tezi aims to provide a fully automated end-to-end workflow, transforming how HR departments manage recruitment.

“Traditional AI or ML tools could identify strong resumes, but humans still had to handle communication and scheduling. Our goal is to automate the entire process,” James noted.

Ensuring Fair and Unbiased Recruitment

Despite the advanced automation, Tezi’s founders emphasize the ongoing need for human oversight, especially in mitigating potential biases. The effectiveness of the AI agent largely depends on the quality of the inputs and job descriptions provided by hiring managers.

Tezi is committed to minimizing any algorithmic bias in their system. “While we can’t eliminate bias introduced by employers, we strive to prevent our algorithms from adding any additional bias,” James said. The AI agent focuses on matching candidates based on skills and criteria set by the hiring manager, rather than relying on historical hiring patterns.

Building and Training the AI Models

Tezi has trained its AI models on a dataset comprising 250 million profiles, sourced from licensed data providers. They have collaborated with OpenAI and Anthropic to fine-tune these models to meet their specific hiring needs.

Future Plans and Growth

Having launched earlier this year, Tezi is currently working with 15-20 design customers to refine their product. The company aims to expand to a wider beta distribution later this year, addressing any issues that arise during this initial phase.

The $9 million seed funding round was led by 8VC and Audacious Ventures, with additional participation from Liquid 2, Afore, Prime Set, South Park Commons, and various industry angels.

Tezi’s innovative approach has the potential to significantly enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of HR departments, offering a glimpse into the future of AI-driven recruitment.
